The Bridge viewers have been left convinced that both Maura and Luke will be caught out after stealing £10,000 from the prize fund.
The duo were sent on an overnight mission to retrieve more tools to help their team’s build.
However, when they finally reached the supplies, they were given the option of taking £5,000 each from the overall final fund… if they forfeited some of the items.
After deliberating what they should do, Maura and Luke decided to take the money and hide it back at camp – forcing them to lie to their fellow contestants.
If their co-stars find out about the betrayal then the money will be lost, and fans don’t think that Maura will be able to keep the secret.
Especially after she broke down in tears before agreeing to keep the money for themselves.
‘The guilt is genuinely eating me up alive,’ Maura expressed to Luke, confessing she’d lost sleep over their actions.
Trying to comfort her, the plumber replied: ‘Do you know what? I’ve totally forgotten about it now.’
Away from Maura, Luke added: ‘It did scare me when she told me she felt guilty, because if she jeopardises it, it’s gone for me. But, there’s only so much someone can hold in.’
Taking to Twitter, viewers were quick to comment on the situation and how they’ll soon start to feel the guilt set in.
‘Waiting for someone to say, ‘if only we had some nails,” and the girl breaking down in tears… Guilt,’ one wrote while another said: ‘But they’re all going to find out anyway and not necessarily at the end. You didn’t have to make that decision Maura but you did.’
Someone else agreed, adding: ‘If I was Luke, I’d volunteer Maura to leave the island.
‘Then she can go use her £5000 for some guilt therapy and you’ve eliminated the chance of her spilling the beans. She’s going to be chirping like a canary very soon.’
Meanwhile, other’s blamed Luke for their decision: ‘He’s completely manipulated her into taking that money.’
The Bridge continues next Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.
