Good news, The Kissing Booth fans – a third film is on the way, and what’s more…it’s already been filmed!

The Kissing Booth 2 dropped over the weekend, starring Joey King and Euphoria’s Jacob Elordi as an adorable follow-up to the original rom-com that debuted in 2018.

Following Elle Evans (King) and her mishaps after falling in love with her best friend’s older brother (Elordi), the sequel threw a spanner in the works as Elle and Noah tried to make their long distance relationship work.

Of course, adding in a third element to the love-triangle in gorgeous new exchange student Marco (Taylor Perez) meant that the film ended on something of a cliffhanger – Elle and Noah are back on track, but will it last?

According to Deadline, we will get the answers to these questions sooner than we expected. Not only as a third film been commissioned by Netflix – but it’s actually already been filmed.

The publication states that writer-director Vince Marcello is already in post-production for the threequel, filming has been completed and sees all the original core cast of King, Elordi and Joel Courtney return.

Much like the schedule for fellow viral rom-com hit To All The Boys I Loved Before, it seems The Kissing Booth 2 and 3 were filmed back-to-back in South Africa.

Star and executive producer King confirmed the news to fans in a livestream.

The Kissing Booth 2 ended on a decisive cliffhanger, as Elle has to choose between attending university with her best friend (Courtney) or her boyfriend (Elordi), after lying to them both and denying she had got accepted anywhere.

As of yet, no confirmation has been made to when The Kissing Booth 3 will debut.

To celebrate the second film’s release this weekend, Joey King asked fans to not let it overshadow the killing of Breonna Taylor in the US.

The Kissing Booth 2 is available to stream now via Netflix.
