Emmerdale star Samantha Giles has thanked a pagan love spell for bringing her beloved husband into her life.

The actress, best known for playing Bernice Blackstock on the show, has always advocated her Wicca beliefs, and spoken about the positive things she believes it has brought into her life.

Among them is her husband, Sean Pritchard, whom she’s been married to since 2010.

Speaking to The Mirror, Samantha said: ‘I practice pagan witchcraft, which isn’t as bonkers as it sounds.

‘I wrote down exactly what I was after and used candles and crystals to do the magic.

‘A few months later exactly what I’d written appeared. As if by magic!’

'Emmerdale' TV Show UK - 2019 Emmerdale, is a British ITV long running soap opera, known as Emmerdale Farm until 1989, set in Emmerdale, a fictional village in the Yorkshire Dales. It was created by Kevin Laffan and was first broadcast on 16 October 1972. It was originally produced by ITV Yorkshire and is still filmed in their Leeds studios.

‘It’s no different to the book, The Secret. You ritualise and visualise and get what you want in life,’ she added.

Samantha also has two daughters, Eve and Olivia, and left Emmerdale last year in order to spend more time with them.

Her decision was supported by Sean, who she credits as the ‘greatest love of her life’.

‘I know it’s cheesy, but he really accepts me for who I am,’ she said. ‘He’s a gentle man. And because I can be quite difficult, I’m lucky he loves me as I am.’

‘Life’s too short to be with someone who isn’t right for you. And to anyone who’s lost jobs, just remember that when you think life is over, it isn’t,’ she continued.

‘It’s just going in a new direction. You have to face forwards.’

Samantha is now releasing a childrens’ book, Rosemary and the Witches of Pendle Hill, which sees a young girl move into a house full of witches with her mum and little sister.
