RHOC: Jeana Keough Reveals What Her Ex-Husband Matt Keough Suddenly Passed Away From

The Keough family has been hit with two devastating tragedies in the matter of a month. First, Jeana Keough’s grandchild passed away and shortly after her ex-husband did too.

Matt Keough was watching horse races with his girlfriend when she left for just a few minutes while he ate lunch. When his girlfriend returned, she found him lifeless.

It turns out that the former MLB player suffered from a pulmonary embolism.

The Real Housewives of Orange County alum opened up to Hollywood Life about what might have caused the blood clot.

‘He was used to riding his bike 30 miles a day or 20 miles a day so probably the inactivity. [He was] so young and pretty reasonably healthy. That’s a guy who never ate sugar and ate really healthy.’

Kara Keough, Matt and Jeana’s daughter, was still grieving the loss of her newborn child when the second tragedy struck.

As expected, the family isn’t taking the series of unfortunate events extremely hard.

‘You know what to lose a grandchild and an ex-husband in less than three weeks — It’s been rough.’

This comes after Kara shared via Instagram that her father passed away.

She wrote in a heartbreaking post: ‘Daddy, please take care of my son. Teach him the circle changeup and how to find forever friends. You’re on grandpa duty in heaven now. Xoxo, Hammerhead.’

Three days ago, she wrote a touching letter to her late son.

‘You would have been 1 month old today. Your baby acne would be gearing up. You would be getting the hang of pacifiers, sorting out your days and nights, and figuring out how to focus your eyes without them involuntarily crossing. I would have already bought a complete boy’s wardrobe since Decker’s old clothes weren’t really as unisex as I thought. Your dad would be insisting that babies don’t need shoes, but he’d change his mind when he saw the little kicks paired with your chubby cankles. You’d be taking your first naps in the crib, and I’d be fussing about “the schedule.” I’d be realizing that you, just like your sister, prefer Lefty and I’d be pumping Righty to try to bring ‘er up to speed. Decker would want to be holding you all the time, but you’d prefer to be spending your day wrapped around my chest. At least that much is still how it is, my sweet Mack. Decker still wishes she could hold you more. And I still wear you on my heart all day. We miss you like crazy, baby.’

Sending strength and condolences to the Keough family.
