Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) has suffered greatly at the hands of Leo King (Tom Wells) in EastEnders, as the young man has proceeded to stalk her and make her life a living hell. However, it’s Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) who’s been caught up in his wicked game after he pushed Leo from a balcony to save Whitney, and thus the young woman sets out to right that wrong, as she formulates a plan.

Being the expert liar that he is, Leo was able to ensure that there was no evidence against him, and thus he’s continually stalked Whitney and managed to avoid repercussions for doing so.

However, Whitney finally believed her nightmare was at an end when Jack (Scott Maslen) arrested him earlier this week, but — using those legal skills of his — Leo managed to talk his way out of the charge, and proceeded to confront Whitney in regards to her motives for wanting him behind bars.

As Leo cornered Whitney on the balcony of The Prince Albert, Kush saw red, and — in an effort to save her from the stalker — he pushed Leo out of the way, which resulted in the young man falling over the rail.

Kush was horrified by his actions, but all of the witness statements seemed to work in his favour — that is until Leo woke up in the hospital and proceeded to tell a very different version of events to the police.

As a result, Kush was arrested — much to the dismay of Whitney, Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Martin (James Bye).

However, it appears as if Whitney is unwilling to let Leo ruin someone else’s life like he’s been attempting to ruin hers, and thus — in the next episode — she hatches a plan and visits Leo in hospital in an attempt to clear Kush’s name.

With Leo being the master manipulator that he is, the question is: will he figure out what she’s up to?

Or will she be successful?

Speaking to Metro.co.uk at the National Television Awards, actress Shona said: ‘Whitney is in a lot of danger it’s only going to get darker it’s going to be good. I loved every minute working with Tom wells I think he’s an amazing actor he can just snap into that psycho stalker mode quite easily.’

‘There is a light at the end of the tunnel but it’s a long tunnel but she will be alright she will be fine.’

EastEnders airs these scenes on Thursday 30 January at 7:30pm on BBC One.
