Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed he underwent gruelling heart surgery to replace a valve – two years after his emergency operation.

The Terminator star confirmed the news on Instagram, sharing a series of snaps with fans – including one from his hospital bed.

Proving there is no way he can be kept down for long, the 73-year-old also blessed us all with photos as he took in the sights of Cleveland during his recovery.

‘Thanks to the team at the Cleveland Clinic, I have a new aortic valve to go along with my new pulmonary valve from my last surgery,’ he penned.

‘I feel fantastic and have already been walking the streets of Cleveland enjoying your amazing statues.

‘Thank you to every doc and nurse on my team!’

Right on cue, fans flooded his post with well wishes, urging him to stay safe.

‘Hope you continue to recover quickly,’ a follower commented.

‘Please Stay Safe Legend,’ one pleaded.

An Instagram user said: ‘Man I was WORRIED!!! Glad to hear you’re feeling great!’

While another suggested: ‘Are we sure he isnt actually a terminator and that’s why hes so cool? [sic].’

Well, they make a good point…

Arnie previously underwent a procedure to have his catheter valve replaced in 2018.

However, he developed complications during the surgery, and was forced to have an emergency operation on his heart.

Recalling the ordeal at a graduation speech recently, he explained that a doctor informed him that his heart valve was leaking blood, and instructed him to go to the hospital.

However, the procedure didn’t go as planned, as the Twins actor was told that experts had to ‘break through the heart wall’ when things took a turn for the worse.

‘They said they broke through the heart wall and there was internal bleeding and I could have died if they didn’t open up my sternum and do open-heart surgery,’ he told the stunned viewers.

‘Imagine, the day before I was training really hard, and now all of a sudden he’s telling me they were saving my life.

‘Then he says, “You’re not out of the woods yet. There’s another danger. There are still patients in our heart unit here, who after heart surgery, pass away, not because of the surgery but because of the lung. They get pneumonia. So we’re really worried about you getting pneumonia.”

‘He said, “the only way you can really protect yourself is to do breaking exercises.”’

Arnie kept on with the exercises and was thankfully able to leave hospital a short while later, heading straight for a film set.

And we expect nothing less.
