Supernova trailer gives first glimpse at Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci as gay couple in heartbreaking love story

Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci left us emotional in the heartfelt trailer for their new film Supernova.

The drama follows Tusker (Tucci) and Sam (Firth) as they travel across country in an old RV visiting old friends and places from their past after Tusker receives an early-onset dementia diagnosis.

Supernova is directed by Harry Macqueen and is the intimate love story we’ve been waiting for.

Tusker and Sam have been partners for 20 years and their relationship is tested as they delve deeper into their past and present.

They both put their careers and lives on halt so they could spent as much time together as possible.

The trailer begins with the sweet couple staring up at a celestial chart as Tusker points out where the milky way is before it cuts to their road trip.

Tusker is heard saying: ‘If you have one wish, what would it be?’ and Sam responds: ‘I wish this holiday would never end.’

He then asks if Sam can tell that the dementia has gotten worse.

We’re crying already.

The clip shows the gorgeous scenery as the two continue on their trip with loved ones, with Tusker saying: ‘I want to be remembered for who I was, not for who I’m about to become.’

Supernova is produced by Emily Morgan of Quiddity Films and Tristan Goligher of the Bureau.

The emotional film also stars James Dreyfus (Gimme Gimme Gimme), Pippa Haywood (The Brittas Empire) and Sarah Woodward (Tom & Clem).

Supernova is set to premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on October 11.
