The Umbrella Academy’s Ellen Page has revealed just how sick she is of expressing gratitude for being out.

The star came out as gay in 2014 and has since tied the knot with her dancer wife Emma Portner in a secret ceremony two years ago.

And, after actively speaking out about her sexuality and standing up for the LGBTQIA community over the past six years, it turns out the 33-year-old is getting rather tired of saying, ‘I’m so fortunate to be myself in the world’.

Because let’s be series, no one should ever feel like that.

‘I shouldn’t have to say any of that bulls**t,’ the actress confessed when chatting to Stylist magazine. ‘But in the scheme of things I am, and that sucks.’

The actress, who will soon be returning to her role as Vanya Hargreeves in the superhero series, addressed her previous roles with the publication.

She said: ‘I’m lucky to be in a place where now I’m out and I love to play queer characters.’

Just last year, Ellen opened up about her journey into stardom, and how she was told to keep her sexuality underwraps.

‘I was distinctly told, by people in the industry, when I started to become known, “People cannot know you’re gay,”‘ she said in an interview with Net-a-Porter’s digital magazine, PorterEdit.

‘I was pressured, forced, in many cases, to always wear dresses and heels for events and photo shoots… As if lesbians don’t wear dresses and heels,’ she scoffed.

‘But I will never let anyone put me in anything I feel uncomfortable in ever again.’

The second season of The Umbrella Academy is expected to drop onto Netflix later this month, and we cannot wait to see what Ellen brings to our screens.

We last saw her character Vanya on the verge of causing the apocalypse before she was rescued by her siblings and transported back to the 1960s in a bid to stop the end of the world.

But what will the flower power decade hold for Vanya? And will she be able to control her powers while finding her way back to her brothers and sisters?

The Umbrella Academy season 2 launches on to Netflix 31 July.
