A pedestrian was struck and injured by a hit-and-run vehicle in the El Sereno area Monday, police said.
The victim was spotted by a Los Angeles police officer who was en route to a call about 12:13 a.m. near Soto and Multnomah streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The unidentified patient was taken to a hospital with injuries of unknown severity, the LAPD reported.
An early report from the LAPD that the person was injured by a patrol car was not accurate, according to department officials.
No description was available of the hit-and-run vehicle or driver, according to the LAPD, which asked anyone with information to call 877-LAPD-247.
